UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS
Leeds Uni has a dedicated communications team whom you must contact to gain permission to film, photograph or record audio on site. So, that's what I did.
Hello,
I am Simon Randall, third year Honours Degree student (Visual Effects), at Futureworks, MCR. Which is part of UCLAN.
I am inquiring about permission to film on campus. I see the conditions for Leeds students and the conditions for external production companies.
So, where would that place a student from another University?
I hope to gain permission to film on the footbridge between the School of Geography and the Irene Manton Building, that overlooks the sustainable garden.
-
This would be for my Honours project.
-
I wish to film three or four exterior shots featuring the footbridge and then I would alter the surrounding environment via visual effects.
-
It would require about two hours access for filming and reference photography, with no more than four people.
-
No lighting equipment just a video camera, stills camera, gimble, tripod & a 360 camera for lighting reference.
As mentioned, this would be for my BA honours, visual effects project at Futureworks.
There is no date set simply because I don't know if you will grant permission for external students, but it would be within the next few weeks, if allowed.
My contact details are;
Email: s********@futureworks.ac.uk
Tel: 07*********
My course lead is j******@futureworks.ac.uk
Thankyou for your time, sincerely;
Simon Randall
The Location of Choice
The science buildings at Leeds University are without doubt some of the best looking spaces. Inside and out. Architectural style, split levels, the bridges. It really is a film set.
The danger though is I can't get too attached because There is no guarantee I will be able to shoot there, (hence plan B & C).
